Posting this for a friend...

He wants to spend ~$1000 for a new gaming desktop.

He's building this specifically for VanGuard: Saga of Heroes (Nvidia).

another alternative:

COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW ATX Mid Tower Computer Case(subtract $40)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119068

in case he wants a sound card (though nearly all new boards have Realtek HD Audio 7.1+ or higher channels, personally i've been playing games now for the last 2-3 years on onboard sound and never ever felt like i needed a PCI sound card)

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card

I'd put a raptor in that build. Don't want the harddrive slowing you down.

on a $1,000 the price/performance isn't worth it, but it would be a good for a gaming rig
