Pack's Andre Brown Cleared to Play

Posted: 40 minutes ago
Updated: 36 minutes ago

N.C. State running back Andre Brown, who XXX with a fractured foot, has been cleared to play at Wake Forest, the Wolfpack announced on Friday afternoon.

Also cleared toplay was fullback Ced Hickson, who has a shoulder strain.

Defensive tackle John Bedics is out with a concussion.

Brown was injured Oct. 6 in State's loss at Florida State.

Brown has carried the ball 83 times for 427 yards, good for 5.1 yards per carry.

With Toney Baker (knee, out for the season) and Brown out, the Wolfpack turned to Jamelle Eugene, who had a spectacular game in the win Saturday over North Carolina.

Hell yes. Should be fun to watch him run with our much improved O-line. Hope he gets some decent play time.

yeah he will definitely be backing up Eugene coming off the injury and not to mention how Eugene performed last week.

Underwood had 2 good carries like 15 yards each in the UNC game.

He looks like he will help too later down the road when these guys are gone...too bad he couldn't have redshirted.

^ I wouldn't be surprised if the coaches talked him into red-shirting next year (assuming he's allowed to as a sophomore, not sure of the rules regarding this) because he'll still be 4th on the depth chart

Anyone that thinks he will come back from a broken bone after sitting for 4 weeks and have an impact hasn't played much sport in his life.

im glad to hear here's recovered that much (Brown)... but honestly i'm not sure how good an idea it'd be to put him in just yet... look at T.A.

why on earth would they put a still healing Brown in for short situations? Eugene has proven quite effective at pounding it out and at the beginning of the year was the third and short back.

wtf is this shit, of course he could redshirt as a sophomore, or a junior, or a senior. All that matters is he doesn't play for the season.

^^ so I wasn't sure of the rule. blow me. I thought it was like the way you said, but I've never seen someone red-shirt as a non-freshman unless they were injured. Hence the uncertainty.
