anyone heard of this? I've been told it can run basic applications and office and such, great internet connectivity and all this in a very small package...not to mention this package costs <$400...thoughts?

I admit I had to look it up... but honestly from the few reviews I've read it looks like it'd be great for specific applications. Obviously not a great desktop replacement or anything like that but for the price it could be well worth it to the right person/ppl

...it's basic purpose would be supplemental, not looking for a desktop/laptop replacement...

What are you really wanting to do with it in particular?? It'd be pretty cool for a computer illiterate person since it looks like there isn't much they could mess up

I was actually looking at these... pretty cool.

Someone managed to get OS X Leopard running on it, though it ran like shit. They recommended using Tiger.

Pretty nifty!

I've been watching them for months, and I'm definitely going to get one as a supplemental system. I am also, however, waiting until next year, when they release a model with upgradeable memory. The model currently available in the US does not, but reportedly the ones that do will be available here by April.

yeah trying to get the manager at the bookstore to order a couple. they'd be around 400 even if we could get them in.

Also, at 399 our distributor indicates they come with a 3 year warranty.
