My favorite Christmas movies (and by that I mean movies that aren't really Christmas related but happen to take place at Christmas time) are Brazil and Die Hard.

It pisses me off how 90% of Christmas-themed episodes/movies are usually just another re-telling and re-packaging of "A Christmas Carol." Granted that it's a Christmas classic, but I get so sick of the lack of originality. Everybody just cuts and pastes the same old formula.

I want him brought from his happy holiday slumber over there on Melody Lane with all the other rich people and I want him brought right here, with a big ribbon on his head, and I want to look him straight in the eye and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-ass, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey shit he is. Hallelujah. Holy shit. Where's the Tylenol? "

hell yes, someone said Garfield's Christmas. I prefer it over Charlie Brown. Claymation is good too. I actually have almost all those that you mentioned on the same tape since I was like 5. Still watch them religiously every Christmas

Other than that, it's hard to beat:
1. It's a Wonderful Life
2. Christmas Vacation
3. Christmas Story
4. Home Alone

*Also, I know Family Man isn't a "Christmas movie" but it was on last night and thought it deserved mention in this thread. Damn good movie

I watched the 1974 Black Christmas this weekend. Thought it was pretty good, a slasher that predated Halloween and Friday the 13th. And it has Lois Lane and the dad from a Nightmare on Elm Street in it, and the decor in the house is really cool. The Director Bob Clark went on to direct Porky's and a Christmas Story. He was killed by a drunk driver in '04.

And I think Scrooged is a better christmas film than national lampoon's, but it's good too.

This weekend I was playing on youtube and watched some of a Dolly Parton Chrismas special from the early 90's, as well as a Judy Garland Christmas special from '63. They were both pretty weird.

Dolly Parton's in A Smoky Mountain Christmas, and it is strange. If I recall correctly, I think it has a witch in it. Good stuff though.

^^The one I watched wasn't an actual movie, it was a special that showed her family and she sang a bunch of songs. She also performs her "Hard Candy Christmas" in "The Best Little Whore House in Texas." Upon googling, I see she's was in a Lifetime Christmas movie this year too.

Gremlins is a pretty cool Christmas movie.
