What are some of the gifts that you would give your boyfriend/girlfriend that you've dated over a year an a half?

I feel like it's hard to shop for my gf because we have most of the things we want. We both work and can afford things that we couldn't as students.

Last year, I got her a princess for a day package at Tanas Day Spa. She loved it. I just don't want to do a repeat or a cliche gift...any ideas would be great!

I got mine a couple dresses she wanted. Some new shoes to go with it. A Tiffany ring and earrings she liked. A pink nano, and some other stuff.

get her jewelry douchebag, its amazing how much women love bright & shiny objects

also, if you get a rather pricey piece of jewelry, feel free to forget and leave the receipt somewhere they could find it b/c they also love knowing how much it costs if it's nice (that way when they show it off to their friends at work they can brag about how much it costs & how the price of their jewelry is directly proportional to how much you love them)

Hahaha it would be funny as hell to photoshop your own receipt and leave it lying around to show that it is a lot more expensive that it really is.

Take her snowboarding and rent a lodge in West Virginia and make is all romantic with flowers and such

I know if I had the money to buy whatever I wanted I really wouldn't want anything... More or less a chance to have fun with my SO. The only thing that a guy could buy for me is something that would have special meaning like a promise ring or something... but you can do that and the idea mentioned above

Or if I had a really big truck and it needed big tires and I let him drive it and he came home one day and he put them on for me.. something like... women like surprises! the unexpected

i remember when i was with my ltso at xmas we'd always have well thought out creative gifts for each other and then last year we started having problems and i could tell it wasn't gonna last, needless to say that xmas our gifts were about as basic as could be. dvds, clothes, and things that didn't require much thought. we broke up that february.

I don't know a guy who has a DS.

I have one.
My niece has one.
My sister in law has one.

All 3 of us play them like crazy. Car trips, at night winding down for bed, when we're all together we play with one another. I enjoy playing the brain builder games whenever I'm waiting on nap time or my husband at work. My niece and in law like to play all the cutesy games like BuildABear and Catz. My older brother even has a few games of his own that he likes to play like Mario Kart whenever he can get his wife or kid to give their's up.

[Edited on November 29, 2007 at 1:08 PM. Reason : If you look at the game selections, a lot of the games are targeted at girls.]

There are games where you can raise a puppy, a cat, a horse, or hamsters. I have the hamster game. My niece has 2 versions of the puppy game.

Go with jewelry.

Quote :

sad, but true.

More than that, we like jewelry that a man gives us because we think of him when we wear it. Also, when someone compliments it, we get to say, "Oh, thanks! (insert SO's name here) gave it to me" It doesn't even have to be expensive jewelry, just something that says, "I thought about you."

However, make sure you know what she likes. For instance, I hate yellow gold. Ask her a vague question about her preferences if you can get away with it. Also, pay attention to what she wears. If she consistently wears the same rings, you might want to go with a necklace. Earrings are (almost) always a safe bet.
