So I wake up to see my car keyed along the passenger side, the hood, above the front wheel and even my the back of my mirror with "brad I hate you" a few times. The kicker is my name isn't Brad, and don't know anyone around where I live, so this dumb bitch (you know it was a chick) got the wrong car

Anyway... it doesn't seem to deep, is this something getting the car detailed would fix? Or should I get it repainted even if it hasn't reached down to the metal or primer? I did look up the whole process of wet sanding it http://www.popularmechanics.com/automotive/how_to/4216365.html but don't want to mess with it since I don't have the time, have the stuff, and don't know what I'm doing. Any recommendations of places to take it?

Go talk to your neighbors, find out if one of them is named Brad and then find out if they've got a pissed off girlfriend/ex. Then proceed to sue the shit out of her.

This thread is one of two things:

1) A non-serious thread playing off the insurance commercial where a dude named "Brad" gets those same exact words ("brad I hate you") scratched onto his car. He calls the insurance company and they refuse to pay because it's not his full name that was scratched on the car.

2) This really did happen, and it was someone else, playing a cruel joke based on the insurance commercial I just explained above.

Despite my inability to take a good picture of it, I assure you this isn't a joke. And yes, my wife mentioned this commercial too (which I have yet to see), but if some jackass picked a random car to imitate this commercial on, then that is even worse.

Luckily it isn't deep and I think it can be fixed without having to get it painted.

It wasn't me. I only key "Brad I love you" into cars.

Sorry man. That's a bullshit thing to do. Do you have insurance that will cover it? If so I'd go ahead and file a claim on that one instead of trying to get out cheaply.

^ Haha, they won't cover it because the vandal didn't use his full name.

^^^^ That is most definately going to need painted...

If u can feel the scratch with your finger nail then it cannot be buffed down- and don't try to be all slick with touch-up pens and shit from AZ because they always turn out terrible.

If you close one eye and look past the image, you can kind of make out who is guilty of this crime:
