whats the best bet for me. I really dont play games anymore. All I would use it for would be for surfing the net, and downloading music at the moment. However, I may need a business laptop in the near future if I start a business. Any suggestions? Ohh yeah, price should be below $1100.

Here's another vote for a MacBook. The 13" screen is great for traveling, and the leopard is way more efficient than windows. I don't have parallels yet, but boot camp works great for running windows. I did a lot of comparison shopping before joining the dark side, and you won't find a better quality machine for $1100. Most of the business laptops are more expensive because they are better built, but the mac is higher quality than a PC anyway. Get a macbook and XP Pro, and you'll be good to go. The apple website has student discounts on both laptops and extended warranties, so if you aren't still a student, you might want to make friends with someone who is.

ThinkPad if you want the classic matte black business notebook.

Comes with productivity software installed (i.e. backup solution, wireless networking manager, system migration tool, robust security tools, etc...). Others have differing and VERY STRONG opposing opinions about the ThinkVantage software, but in your case I believe it would come in handy if you don't plan on hiring some IT specialist to work on your computer. Lenovo is well known for their customer support carried down from their IBM heritage.
