Someone who is a regular explain to me why people still drink at EV?

I just don't get it- It's about the most boring bar on the face of the earth... Never any room to move, no fun bar room sports, over-priced booze...

I guess I am at a loss as to why there is always such a huge fucking line and it is always so goddamn packed inside when there a good half dozen bars that are a far cry more entertaining.

I've only been there twice. The first time was ok because the weather was nice and 6 or 7 of us had a table together on the deck. The second time was this week with a bunch of classmates and the professor and TA. I guess I am kinda apathetic to it. What made it the most fun was my friends, and I guess the atmosphere where you don't have to scream over music or get shoved around like in a bar is what sets it apart for me. But like I said, I am by no means a regular.

I'm sure stuff like that happens all the time, but it's different when you know it for a fact. And I would imagine that you have to disclose that kind of information when applying for certain kind of jobs that involve public health.

It was hike night, what were you expecting? I don't mind EV at all. I find it to always be laid back and easy place to get a drink. It doesn't take long to get one either, unless you are a tool looking guido who drives a Volkswagen.

I know that, silly. But depending on what kind of work they do and how well they do it, there's a risk involved. There are plenty of opportunities to get poked or cut in food prep work and not everyone follows health regulations (properly covering open wounds, etc). And I have known this person for an extremely long time and I can tell you that s/he is pretty sloppy.

^ev is actually pretty laid back imo, decent lunch specials, and i actually think the alcohol is pretty cheap, if you get a table outside it's a pretty cozy little spot. pretty good sandwiches too.

^^I'm sorry you can't find a seat because you don't have any friends. They've got $1.50 Coors Light every night and that's pretty cheap. The whole popped collars thing is a myth. Nobody does that, except for people from up North.

Again- I will restate, that my complaint is not during lunch time n a wednesday- lol... It isn't a terrible place to grab a bite mid-day. I am referring to weekends, nights, partying.

I guess that is my point all together- EV would make a decent "restaurant" as opposed to "night club/spot" I mean there is nothing about the place that yells "FUN" imo as a nightspot.

Its a fucking restaurant that magically converts to a homoerotic mardi gras of sorts weekly

I love east village. They usually have really cheap drink specials like $1.50 coors light and they always make my drinks strong. I should have been thrown out of there multiple times as drunk as I was and they were cool.

Its a great place to go with a group of friends if you just want to sit down and get hammered and joke around with each other. The Hep C think does kind of scare me though. I might not be ordering food in the future.

I don't go to EV very often anymore but when I do I know what to expect and thats why I like it. I can socialize without playing with darts or a ball so I don't have a problem with it. There are a lot more bars around, and I go to them. But EV is like an old friend, there may be new waitstaff every 2 months, but the place is still as gritty and full as its always been.
