You are bidding on a 14 karat white gold engagement ring and ring guard. Engagement ring contains 1 (one) marquise shape diamond, approximate weight is 1.04 carat. The clarity grade is VS1 and the color grade is E. The ring also contains 2 (two) tapered baguettes, their approximate total weight is .22 carat. Their clarity grade is VVS2-VS1 and their color grade is E-F. The ring guard contains 8 (eight) single cut diamonds with an approximate total weight of .08 carat. Their clarity grade is SI1-SI2 and their color grade is G-H. Total weight of diamonds is 1.34 carat.

Trying to help my boy out by posting this here. He is in Cary, so you can probably set aside some time to check it out..

Thanks

He says the ring is worth about 11K.....which mean it may have appraised for 10K.....which really means he paid about 2.5K.....so he might get 1K out of it...

diamond is also graded on color and clarity, so not all 1 carat diamond are the same.

VS1 is pretty good quality. A loose VS1 marquis cut diamond is usually over $5k depending on other factors. Not saying he will get $6k, but I wouldn't say it's impossible. Obviously the appraisal is a joke. I don't know why the appraisal industry allows itself to function like that.

That is definitely a unique piece, I like how it fits in to the other one. And yeah, you can tell it's an antique.
