I saw a show called Adrenaline Rush on the IMAX in D.C. It showed the wing suits a lot which were pretty neat but overall the show wasn't that good.

nah - combine that with jet packs or rocket boots or whatever, and we can "truly" fly. as i recall, there was a guy who crossed the English Channel a year or two ago with rocket boots and a plastic wing on his back

Pretty damn good considering starting from 30 km up and going horizontally 35 km, meaning that you're gliding down at an angle less than 45 degrees, and considering the density of the atmosphere at the start of the fall, he can probably get damned near horizontal at least temporarily around sea level.

How long do ya reckon it'll be before someone manages to land one of these falls without a parachute like a real plane?
