Basically I've been trying to getting a live cd of back track 2 going on this laptop with a built in Intel 3945 wireless adapter. I've tried this on three separate occasions and ONE time it worked, without me doing anything.

airmon-ng command shows no adapter. iwconfig shows "lo: no wireless extensions and eth0: no wireless extensions". I've ran the install ipw3945 that comes with it and it says "Intel 3945ABG found at blah blah blah long address" but it doesn't work right. Yesterday I booted off the live CD and it came right up without me doing anything. After messing with it for a few hours I needed to do some stuff in windows, went back to windows, came back to the live CD about 30 mins later and it wouldn't work again and hasn't worked since. the card works fine in windows but this is getting annoying. i've tried everything google will give me with no success.

it just doesn't make sense it would work so easily once then not work an hour later. the tutorial on SmallNetBuilder is basically what I was following, although I doubt it matters.

Any ideas??

AND THE ANSWER IS:

boot using bt irqpoll

Not a fucking clue how it worked before without me doing this..but somehow it did. I've booted into it twice, loaded the driver and it comes right up using bt irqpoll
