how would i go about connecting that to a battery powered device to cut the power to it?

also could a switch from a 9V or whatever car be powered by a AA battery? or would i need an external power source?

What exactly are you trying to do?

Does it need to turn off and stay off?

Turn off only as long as the remote is pressed?

Do you need to turn in on remotely as well?

Be more specific.

okay, what i'm wanting to do is set up a clock that can stop and start with a remote control. i know that you can buy wall outlets that are remote controlled, but ideally i'd like to use a battery powered clock if i could.

^ He'd just tie a string to it that flips a switch.

If you don't know anything about electronics, you'd just have to run the motor of the RC toy you ripped apart to a mechanical switch, and put the switch in between the battery and the electrode of the clock.

I don't know why you need TWW to tell you this though.
