I've been giving some thought to pawning off my gun (Bersa Thunder 380). Obviously Uncle Sam wants me to be a compliant patriot and let him know when the gun changes hands, so I'm sure that there will be paperwork for me to fill out. What sort of forms do I need and where can I get them?

don't pawn your gun

trade it or sell it

you need to acquire a purchase permit from the buyer, copy of their DL, and if they have one a copy of their CCWP

PS: FUCK UNCLE SAM

[Edited on December 11, 2007 at 6:39 PM. Reason : buyer has to have the paperwork, you keep it for your records]

What about selling it to a gun store? My first thought was to try to take it to PDHSC to see what I could get for it.

Perhaps the laws have changed, but I thought you didn't need a purchase permit if you had a CCWP.

any FFL dealer will have the appropriate paperwork on hand to handle any transaction

if you don't need the $ right now, put it on consignment up there and get more

they sell it for you, for a % of the sales price

but you will still get more than you would trading it in or selling outright

You mean your statement?

Either way, I'm not surprised some po dunk livin in his parents basement redneck would make such a proclamation.

Go to your nearest gun shop and talk to the owner or worker there. He will give you the best and most simple advice.
