cant cut metal 1.) conductive 2.) sometimes reflective
and max thickness of one cut/ pass is abt 1/8" after that, you'll have to make multiple passes to cut thicker materials - i'm using basswood
I've etched stone and bricks before - pretty cool actually
i hear a while back some kids cut things out of toast. the tech guys forbid food in the cutters now :-P ha 12/12/2007 5:31:42 AM |

bttt. i used to provide tech support for that thing. if they're still using DLS to schedule that thing, I wrote it.
also, i was the one that forbade food. stupid kids and their bologna.

^^ Joey Jenkins mentioned it to me a while back, but we never followed up on it. I'd have to look at the lasercutter PC's and software again.
Nice to see that the system I wrote still works after I stopped working there, otherwise. I was pretty proud of it. 12/29/2007 11:22:18 PM |

Not really, no. Besides, most lasercutters have safety features that prevent you from even having their cases open while they cut. 12/29/2007 11:49:38 PM |
