Does anyone have experience with putting a non-Apple wireless PCI card into an older power mac? I have a G4 450 Quicksilver Mac tower that I want to get wireless, but I cannot bring myself to drop $80+ for an original apple airport card. I want to see if a regular PCI wireless card will work in the tower even if the card does not say it is Mac compatible. Any ideas? I have found PCI cards that are Mac compatible, but they run in the $70+ range.

What about USB adapters? Any luck with those? Will any ole USB adapter work in the Mac or will this be another expensive option?

A USB adapter that has OS X drivers is your best option.

Just be sure to double check that whichever you get has drivers for your version of OS X. A lot fo linksys ones have drivers for 10.2 and earlier but don't work (easily) with 10.3 or 10.4
