For personal use. Anyone have any experience with this. Clearly I'd need to go to a lawyer and all, but has anyone on here done something similar. I'm not trying to defraud the government on taxes, but I would like to pay less. 12/19/2007 12:30:01 PM |

you can print the papers off a government website, pay a fee (like 300 bucks or something) and submit the forms....thats about all there is to it...ofcourse you could get a lawyer to do it for you but thats all he would do and charge you mucho $$ to do it 12/19/2007 1:45:26 PM |

the lawyers do a little more.. most will do a name search in several states to make sure there's not another registered LLC under that name.. they also [help] write up your articles of organization and such. 12/19/2007 1:47:25 PM |

Quote : | "5 ways to fix your privacy
1) Take your name off all titles: - establish a New Mexico limited liability company. - LLC ownership is anonymous in New Mexico - no annual reports are required - use your LLC when you purchase vehicles, boats, real estate, whatever... - unlike corporations, single-member LLCs do not usually require a tax ID and are not named on your returns. (Income, if any, is listed as personal income on Schedule C.)
2) Stop receiving mail at home: - avoid: - marketers - scammers - stalkers - other uninvited guests - don't allow your name to be connected with where you live. - rent a private mailbox with a commercial mail-receiving agency. - for license renewals or anything else that shows up on a public records search, buy a forwarding address from a service in Alaska, and use your LLC (step 1).
3) Change your phone number: - or cancel your land line in favor of pre-paid cell phones - if a land line is needed for internet, cancel your present number. Two weeks later have a legal proxy or nominee (established with a simple form) order a new unlisted number.
4) Never use your license as ID: - get a passport for ID - passports don't list Social Security Numbers or addresses
5) Use a cross-cut shredder - people can learn a lot from your trash" |

is correct
I am already the (proud?) recipient of death threats
what I plan on doing in my life will piss off many, many bigots, mostly of the christian redneck variety
and I don't want to be killed by some eric rudolph wannabe who thinks they're doing god's work
so, if they can't find me, they can't kill me
(and they'll really want to, once I get "started")
I'm really a good guy, though
I don't deserve murder

nice job there reading what I said
it's not my fault if christians rednecks get pissed off
but no, I'm not setting out to do that
and, seeing as how you're bothering with capitalization, why didn't you capitalize the first word in your sentence?

You dont need an LLC to incorporate and make the S election. If you are doing this to avoid self-employment tax all you need to do is incroporate in the state of NC, apply for your EIN, and make an S election with IRS.
A LLC may give you give more protection but is probably not necessary to accomplish what you need. 12/20/2007 5:52:39 PM |
