fwiw, kenpom.com has this down as a 67% chance of a win.

i'll be at this game. hoping for a motivated ncsu team. i think there will be. they know this will be a challenge.

And kenpom has us going 14-16 and (not sure but close) getting last place in the ACC. He has no credibility in my opinion, but weird he is so confident in us winning this game.

If we go 14-16 I will be mad that being said to the guy who said the crowd will be weak. I will try to step my game up from 111 or 127 whichever one I am in. I am in row A in one section and the other ticket is row C. Does it start 1-14 and then go to the numbers or numbers then 1-etc? Let me know. GO PACK!

^^^Yes I did not look closely at the site earlier and assumed it was just this guy's predictions, as you did not explain/specify what it was and just put a link. However his formula is still WAY off from RPI; I have not looked at what is calculated in but it makes me skeptical. Also skeptical b/c why post conclusive W/L when you can just leave percentage chance of winning? That would prevent idiots like me from getting the wrong idea from his site.

it's a little much to digest, but i've been able to recreate it successfully for predictions for an ncaa pool i did one time. (and with random perturbations thrown in, these predictions routinely do better than 9 out of 10 others)

^He appears to have become the first professor of Advance Mathematics for Sports Management Engineers. Maybe they should enlist his help for the BCS issues. BTW I watched Davidson play Carolina in Charlotte and they played great; however as you pointed out they did lose to Western Mich. and UNCC... although UNCC has been playing well of late (saw them hammer Wake Forest). It's sad that many State fans are so negative; look at how tough it was last year and we almost ended up winning the ACC tournament for the first time in 20 years. March and April are when it really counts, not November.

when sid repeatedly shows that his teams sometimes start slow, but play their best in March - I'll agree, but one year does not earn that credibility. Last year we had a clear leader in Atsur, we do not have that this year. If we finish strong, he will prove that last year's improvement was not a fluke.

Until then, we have every reason to be negative about the performance:expectations of this team.

^^^^I'm saying that losing games now is not as big a deal. We lose to UNO & ECU it sucks, but we lose all our ACC games you will be on here asking for Sidney Lowe to be fired. BTW Atsur was a stabilizing force on the team last year but was injured the entire time. Don't you think combo of Degand, Johnson (who we have not seen play yet), Gonzalez (maybe not him so much), who are all true pgs unlike Atsur will be better late in the season than Atsur, once they have a few more games and more experience? I think Grant and several other returning players are good leaders, if not the greatest players all the time.
^^^Why are you judging Sidney Lowe on the basis of another coach's accomplishments/failures? It's like saying Les Robinson took NC State to the NCAAs his first year, Lowe DEFINITELY doesn't measure up as a coach since he couldn't even do that. How the fuck does that make any sense? Why don't you go gamble your life savings on NC State under Lowe finishing each season in the same fashion as Sendek if you're going to have that as an argument.
You can't blame Lowe for negative results until he has time to get his own players in and establish his system. This is Herb's team with a couple freshman and transfers.
