My company has a pretty crappy holiday schedule, as we only get the 24th and 25th off, as well as new years day. A lot of my friends who work at other companies get paid leave from the 24th all through the 1st.

but really it's pretty good, 3 vacation days to get 11 days off (incl. weekends)

I only get off the 25th and 1st.

But I get 5 weeks of vacation and two floating holidays.... so I'm off today through the 26th and the 31st and 1st...

and I'm STILL carrying about 2 weeks + vacation into 2008.

My company has an AWESOME benefit plan.

My company typically gives new employees (<4 years) 2 weeks of paid vacation, and 2 weeks of sick leave. When they picked me up as a full time employee last year, I told them that 2 weeks wasn't compatible with my lifestyle and my travels since i have a girlfriend whose family lives in europe, so they bumped me up to 4

22nd - 7th mandatory paid vacation

if you want to work during those time period you get triple time

One of the reasons I'm going to miss the Army; I work 1 full week between Thanksgiving and MLK. Other than that, it's all 3 or 4 day weeks and half-day schedule.

Paid holidays Dec. 24-27
Dec. 28, 31 are "mandatory leave" days where we are required to take those days off using our own accrued leave time. I really hate this policy--it's borderline insulting. Just give us two days less vacation time and make them paid holidays...I mean really. What's the point?

Though all things considered, not having to go in to work from the 22nd to the 1st isn't bad at all.
