And Chicago to Raleigh.

It's not a ride I enjoy being on.

(zorthage is from Chicago, and he likes to drive. We visit his dad a couple times a year)

Missoula to Boston in 3 days. Of course I went out of my way to see a historic site in Nebraska.

For the record, there are actually two Fort Kearneys. The one in Nebraska is not the cool one.

I did L.A. to D.C. and back. The way there we didn't stop except for food and gas...and then for like 3 hours when I was literally falling asleep at the wheel in the middle of Mizzou.

That is awesome. every time i leave wilmington and see the Barstow, CA 2552 miles i always think about passing Raleigh and keep driving till i hit CA.

Did you start in wilmington just so you could say you made it across on I40??

Wilmington to Barstow on route 40, took a detour to vegas then to san diego then up to colorado and home on route 70. I think about 7000 miles.

So yes.

I had a friend working at a ranch near Missoula and I took a few weeks off and headed out that way. I spent about a week in Colorado then went to Greenough, MT, about 40 minutes northeast of Missoula. I ended up living in the basement of a crossroads bar in the middle of nowhere for a month. Man did I drink a lot that summer.

wow, you picked a bad day to travel I guess.

when I left at the end of may I prob woke up at 5:30, was on I-40W past durham by about 6:15 and after charleston, ohio, and indianapolis got to the tristate at about 7:00 CST (8:30), it took me essentially 14 hrs (with a few stops in there.. I think I might have went to mcdonald's twice) and I was goign to schaumburg, not chicago chicago. shit driving home from work today was AWFUL, I can't imagine how a long trip was.

still, it felt really surreal that I just drove from cary to chicagoland in one period of being awake

I did Charlotte to Chicago and back for Lollapalooza in 2006. It wasn't too bad since two of us split it up but just sitting for ~15 hours is annoying as hell.

I'm in Mt. Prospect. It's a NW suburb of Chicago. It took 15 hours because of traffic in NC and the 2.5 hours worth of rain I had to go through. I'd say 15 isn't bad because my Dad did it once and it took him 18.

Chicago to New Orleans - took I-55 all the way in. The only time I diverted was to take downtown bypasses (such as the one in Memphis). 14 hours total,, and that's because we stopped for 30 minutes to look for my boy's iPod.

Raleigh to Maine. We stopped a lot of places in between. I was little and don't really remember it. We had one of those cool dodge caravan mini vans that had the sliding door only on one side. my parents took the two middle seats out so we could have room to lie down or play games. if we were good for a certain amount of time we'd get a disney tape to listen to.

Almost did Raleigh to Chicago, fucking flight got canceled today.

Longest I have done is slightly shorter than that, about 750 miles in a day.

I will be doing more of them for sure. I fucking hate airlines and them shitting on me.

Raleigh to Boston for the 2005 State @ BC football game. Drove around 12 hours to my friends house about an hour above NYC. Then drove another 3 hours and some change the next day to Boston.

^ my friend lives 30 minutes outside boston and it only takes him like 11 hours to get home. i'd say that you fucked up somewhere, but i think it's just because he gets cranked out on adderall and drives all night and probably hauls ass through the entire state of virginia

^x4 well we left in the early afternoon after our friend got out of her last class that friday. we hit some terrible DC traffic and terrible NYC/NJ traffic. i mean in D.C. it took us an hour to go like 5 miles. also we stopped for 30 minutes at a Cracker Barrel in Maryland to get some dinner.

Also we had to drive an hour north of NYC to stay at my old roommate's house.
