anyone know where to buy SweetWater west of Asheville?

Getting sixers sent up from ATL isn't too cost effective.

peace street is good, just have to be wary of old shit...and even more so with total wine

the stock rotation and at the raleigh whole foods is excellent

I just got home from peace street. Good selection even though they didn't have the specific beer i was looking for.

And i think the beer i got was old

i remember they were suppose to have Sweetwater here like 2 years ago, supposedly distributed through long beverage? (whichever one distributes Coors here)

i dunno what happened with that

i certainly wish they would real soon, otherwise i might have to move to asheville or atl

reading big boss's website, they just started bottling this beer 4 days ago. so yeah, look where you've found big boss in the past and you might find the penny ale soon. also, can you just go by the brewery? i know they used to sell jugs of their beer, not sure if you can buy six packs from there or not.

Anyone tried Delirium Tremens? I want to try it (just because it has a cool name). I'm probably gonna stop by peace street later this week, any suggestions?

that's a tough question...if you are trying to figure out what you like, my suggestion would be to go somewhere like Whole Foods and make a mixed pack of singles, hitting on a range of styles

i've been to big boss on numerous occasions, really great beer. not much of a bar, no food or anything of that nature, its just the bar, a handful of tables and a dart board. i dunno if they still have it in stock this late in the year, but the pumpkin ale is the medicine, as is the IPA.

I live in Asheville and I wouldn't mind running beers to Raleigh the next time I'm through there

not sure when that will be

if you're trying to sample stuff, Saranac has a great 12-pack sampler

I second Peace Street Market, that place is great. I'm up there at least twice a week, sometimes more. Whole foods is good too, but I prefer the former.

^^^ Come on, you have to give their tavern a little more credit than that. The place is pretty cool, multiple rooms, free pool/ping pong, cheap FRESH beer. The only problem is that it's a little farther away. Not bad, still inside the beltline, but if you're planning on getting drunk it's one of those cab-pool places.

pumpkin is out, and ipa has been discontinued until the hop situation improves

I'm in Asheville at the moment...have seen some Sweetwater around but didn't pay it much mind. We came up here for 3 nights on a family trip and so I could casually check out some prospective employers while in town. Having family members who dig great beer has made for a fun three nights.

I don't like Peace St because they don't keep their beer stock clean and the Indian clerks there always have a bad attitude and don't know anything about beer. I usually go the Whole Foods when I want something nice.
