Ok, I don't ask anything of you people but here's my situation.

I had always tried to get my grandfather and I tickets to the State/Carolina game every year since I went to NC State (6 years ago). I could never really make it all happen. But this year, I think I really need to make it happen due to his age and condition.

He grew up a Tarheel fan and was forced to drop out of school in the 6th grade to take care of his family. He didn't think twice about doing it and has subsequently been doing hard, laborious jobs ever since. There's not much room in the business world for a man with a 6th grade reading level. He's not had it easy and he's still one of the most generous people I know who gives freely of what little bit he does have for his family. He had to grow up at a very young age and became the father figure in his house. While doing that, he raised his brother who would eventually grow up to become a millionaire in the small business world. Had it not been for my grandfather's abundance of generosity, the outcome for his siblings may have been much, much different.

It would mean the world to him if I were able to get 2 tickets to the game and treat him to a night of basketball (for the record, he's a Carolina fan that of course, didn't go to Carolina, but has been a fan for long enough to realize that the TRUE RIVALRY is State and Carolina, not Carolina and Duke).

I'm not sure that there will be a next year on this. We're never guaranteed next year. I'm not asking for free tickets, but I would like to buy tickets off of someone who either can't go or reads my story and feels compelled to sell them to me. I know I'm asking for a Wolfpack Fan to sell the tickets to me and a Carolina fan, but I believe he's earned his right to be a Carolina fan far more than the ones who happen to have the degree from that University.

bite the bullet and get them off stubhub. if it is this important to you, then scrape up the cash. i dont know how anyone else feels, but I personally wouldnt give up my seats in order to pony up a discount to put a blue shirt in the seat

I know I know, but seriously, it's not like he hasn't earned his right to be a Carolina fan. He's not one of those who wears the hat but can't name the starting 5. He can name more alumni than Michael Jordan. He's been a fan since before Dean Smith.

good luck. i kind of know where you're coming from. my grandfather grew up UNC fan but spent most of his time in war. he still pulls for UNC to this day, but also pulls for NCSU because of me (long time NCSU fan and may08 graduate) and my cousin who just signed to play softball there.

I was being serious, if you give them the story maybe they'll be willing to cough up tickets before someone here will. Just don't tell them you're a state student...and of course you'll be sitting in the visitor section...but then maybe your g-pa will be more comfortable there.
