Old topic too old, but...

I've been using WINSCP and can connect fine and copy and delete things from my personal files but I can't upload now. I'm getting the error message below. What have I missed? Thanks

please fix that picture

so basically you can download files from your ncsu webspace but cant move a file from your home to your ncsuwebspace?

are you trying to create the file? or just move a file...sounds like you are remotely trying to create it

ps- hey lisa!!

i'm not going to post here anymore...not cause i hate you or anything, but i dont really even get what you are trying to do cause the filename and extension of that file looks strange(ppt.team.filename or whatever it was), and would rather someone more helpful to post...if i keep posting no one else will try and help

Hi Josh!!!

The file is already created... I'm just trying to upload it to the web.

Also, I know the file extension keeps getting weird each time I try and do it. It really is just a plain old .ppt - go figure.

Any help is appreciated Even if you're not sure, Josh. I'll give it a try!

looks like no write access to your www folder, but I don't know how to tell you to fix it.

I've done it plenty in the past, even after they went to using secured access only... so I'm confused why I'd have that now.

If that's the case, just log in via putty, change directories to [unityid]/www

fs sa . [unityid] rlidwka

type 'fs la' to check current permissions.

Hmm... I just re-connected and tried again and now I can write fine.

For future reference though, it'd be nice to know what the problem was!

Also, other random issue. How can I set it so that the web addresses for uploaded files are not case sensitive? Or is that a NCSU thing in general?

not possible. web addresses are explicitly case-sensitive.

I recommend you create a bunch of links to cover every permutation of uppercase and lowercase characters for that filename
