I really thought it was an amazing movie...I'll admit I haven't seen that many movies this year, but probably the best movie I've seen all year.

The whole it being a musical is probably what will make people either love it or hate it....

I really appreciated it being a musical with out the showtune songs being the part that ran it. It was an amazing story line and I think the ending was incredible.

I thought the previews were both crappy and good. I hate the dark, nastiness of the previews - but its Johnny Depp, and he has not been in many bad movies.

It is definitely a Tim Burton film. It has that dark gothic feel to it, but that's just what I think makes it amazing.
There is a point of time when the main female role is day dreaming about something and everything has life in it and their skin has color in it then when she comes back to reality it all fades away and life is just sucked out of everyone again, and I thought it was an awesome affect.

I think some people might go into it thinking that it's going to have songs in it that are catchy and that you'd get stuck in your head, but that's not the type of songs that are done. There are no spirit fingers and smiles when they sing.
And Johnny Depp has a nice voice to match his beautifulness

Yeah, I never imagined him trying to sing. I think that was another question for me.

Alan Rickman (Plays Prof. Snape in Harry Potter) is in it, he's weird seeing him sing. (but he is still the bad guy)
Helena Carter (who plays Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter) is in it, she plays the main female role, she is perfect for the role
Sacha Baron Cohen is also in it...he's got a short part, but it's good.
Timothy Spall (the guy who plays Wormtail in Harry Potter) is also in it.

yeah i saw it. not the type of movie i would normally choose to go see, but punchmonk wanted to see it and she went to see I am Legend with me so we went. I thought it was pretty good. a little shocked at the Kill Bill style of violence, but it was a fun movie and a good story

Plus, if you look at the cast, all the big names are all wonderful actors, and can jump into any roll.

we loved it. it took me a while to get in it... i wasn't fond of the love songs (and i'm not as into musicals as the hubby). but once the story got rolling, i was having fun.
