Liddell completely dominated the pace and exchanges, he had an amazing gameplan...that being said Wanderlei took some HEAVY combinations and never fell he fought rocked against the cage and while stumbling backwards
liddell showed some real well roundedness, he won against the cage with vicious elbows, nice low and mid kicks, and even landed a spinning backfist
and he also pulled off some crisp, clean takedowns which in the post fight he said he used to keep Wanderlei off balance so chuck could land his overhand better...but man chuck showed that after all these years hes still a great wrestler
im still buzzing off these fights...Lyoto fuckin Machida is the man

Machida didn't need this fight to get the #1 contender spot in my opinion, he already had it, but now it's going to be damn near impossible to deny him. Machida has had nothing but dominating fights since he got to the UFC. I guess you could say some were boring, but not this one. Give the man a crack at the belt.
GSP, just wow. Made Hughes look like a child.
Chuck got a pretty clear decision win over Wandy, now he has to work his way back into contention. I expect to see Chuck vs. Thiago Silva next for a title shot after the Forrest vs. Rampage fight. 12/30/2007 6:05:26 AM |

i dont thiago should fgget the shot yet he beat irvin on a freak accident and defeated houston
he needs to fight one more fight to get contention, im really hopin its rashad and i predict rashad would win
lyoto has long been a favorite of mine too, im glad he finished the fight against a tremendous talent in dominating fashion...now i want to see people tey to act like he doesnt exist
"ive defeated the alaskan assassin, and now the african assassin...how many assassins do i have to beat to get a title shot?"
just pure beautiful MMA skill man, fucker NEVER gets hit only fight hes been hit in was against BJ...but BJ is incredible all the time 12/30/2007 12:55:07 PM |

I wonder how long until Melvin Guillard is arrested for shooting Clemente 12/30/2007 1:19:14 PM |

Yo thats the first damn thing i was thinking when melvin said "man this aint over yet"
i dont like either fighter as a person theyve always been assholes, but this was a real beef so i was seriously worried that somethin was gonna happen backstage
Melvin needs to mature badly, his submission defense sucks and he cant rely on explosiveness to get out of submission, just during scrambling (i was rooting for melvin to have learned to avoid being submitted)
only reason i ever liked clementi was because he choked out that racist who beat some white dude and said "now he can tell his folks he got his ass kicked by a black man" during his post fight
other than that fuck clementi, and melvin they are both immature none of that crap after the fight or before it was good for the sport 12/30/2007 1:25:57 PM |

i was pretty pleased with the fight as a whole
i was happy to see guillard tap, however the way clemente handled himself was histerically classless.
machida really, really impressed me. being a casual mma fan, i wasn't really that aware of how good he was.
the silva/liddell fight could have been one of the most exciting fights ive ever seen. except for the sniffin' out in the beginning of the first round, it was nonstop action.
and wanderlei can fucking take some beating (but it's not like liddell didnt get shook a few times too.. there were 2 occasions where i thought chuck was done)
and gsp/hughes....
well, maybe hughes should consider hanging it up 12/30/2007 1:32:30 PM |

who can stop GSP? Anybody at 170 that can take him?...I used to think Fitch would give him a run but after seeing that domination against Hughes I think GSP will clear out the division ala Anderson Silva. 12/31/2007 4:02:50 AM |
