I see this a lot, and thought I would attempt to spread some wisdom.
MOST (definitely not all) window decals that you buy now are just that - a decal, not a cling. You are supposed to pull that film off once you stick the decal to the window. I see a lot of vehicles riding around with the film starting to come off, and they still do not realize that you are supposed to peel that off. In case you haven't noticed, that film is not completely clear, and the color is much better when you peel that layer off. Plus, you kinda look like you can't follow directions.
Of course there are still clings around, but common sense tells us that those go on the inside of the window. 1/1/2008 5:03:57 PM |

also, stickers and clings in windows look trashy as hell. Why not just get a Garfield with suction cup feet and get it over with? 1/1/2008 5:07:30 PM |

Whatever, like 90% of NCSU students have NCSU decals on their windows. Its not trashy. 1/1/2008 5:09:17 PM |

haha no way decals are totally classy
I think the one of Calvin pissing on Mohammed that says "We still pray." is hella classy
like James Bond three-piece-tuxedo-vodka-martini classy 1/1/2008 5:13:07 PM |

Just because I don't agree with you, does not mean that there is flawed logic anywhere... Opinions are like assholes.
I am assuming that the amount of replies is so low because people had to put shoes and jackets on to go pull the film off their decals real quick! 1/1/2008 5:13:19 PM |

if they don't know how to properly install a sticker of fake bullet holes then I'm not sure they're smart enough to put shoes on in this weather
they might not even own shoes 1/1/2008 5:16:55 PM |

COMMON BELIEF. This fallacy is committed when we assert a statement to be true on the evidence that many other people allegedly believe it. Being widely believed is not proof or evidence of the truth. Example: Of course Nixon was guilty in Watergate. Everybody knows that.
EVERYONE AT NCSU HAS A STICKER SO IT MUST BE CLASSY! 1/1/2008 5:18:57 PM |

so if you had a Ferrari, you wouldn't mind putting a fake bullethole on the window? You don't think it would take anything away from the car?

So, fake bullet holes are the only kind of decal that there is? I don't know why that is the only example you have. Your crappy Mazda with the bumblebee exhaust must have bullet hole decals on it.
BTW, I didn't say it was classy. I simply said that it was not trashy. There is a neutral "I don't care either way" middle ground.

Um. . .
1. I hadn't even posted in this thread!!!1
2. The fallacy of logic that you're referring to is likely argumentum ad ignorantiam ("argument to ignorance"), which is the fallacy of assuming something is true simply because it hasn't been proven false. Not that you would know, BobbyDigital--obviously.
3. You both need to find a new obsession. I'm not interested in being yours--FYI.
