Someone posted a program a while ago, in a thread about weird programs, that had an expansion of Pi in it, but did something totally unrelated to Pi (it printed out 3 letters very large, that were each composed of individual characters of those letters, or something like that).

No, this was like gimmick programs. There's a special name for them... like a program that does something that it wouldn't look like it would do.
