when have you gotten sick, and it was an extremely bad time for it to happen?

me:
my "wedding day" (day we went to the courthouse)
now (leaving for a 5-day conference in denver on saturday)

we did have a real wedding. it was done by an acting friend who had no legal abilities in NC. courthouse was just us and a couple friends, for legalities. hence the quotations... not our wedding.

get married in vegas/courthouse/etc for $Rhode Island and spend the rest of the money on booze

Chicken Pox two days before Christmas when I was 15. Huge welts all over. Spread to my ear, nose, and throat resulting in sore throat, terrible ear infections, and a ruptured ear drum. Couldn't go to Christmas at my grandparents. Got a mountain bike, but couldn't ride it for over a week.
