I'm looking to go to Jekyll Island (maybe) for my honeymoon. If we go we'll be staying at the Jekyll Island Hotel Club: http://www.jekyllclub.com/
Anyone ever been here or to Jekyll Island? Anything to do besides the amenities on the island? 1/5/2008 10:16:19 PM |

I went there for a field trip sometime around third grade. From my memories, it seems like a place to take a field trip in third grade, not a place for a honeymoon. 1/6/2008 10:40:49 AM |

i've been there, and stayed where you are going to...really nice place
we biked the island, went on a kayaking trip in the tidal marshes, went horseback riding on the seashore, and hung out on the soundside pier
i believe st. simons island, just north, has some restaurants and whatnot 1/6/2008 10:54:38 AM |

I have family on St. Simon's
the whole area is super beautiful
also check out The King and Prince on St. Simon's... its another nice hotel and there's always The Cloister if you're stupid loaded
I recommend you do a kayak tour with Ocean Motion on St. Simon's... those guys are good and its a fun day or half-day trip 1/6/2008 11:10:21 AM |

i hope the weather allows it in February.
We're not sure yet if we're going to go. Kinda worried about there being nothing to do besides eachother. 1/6/2008 11:13:36 AM |

kayaking isn't terrible even if it is a bit cold
if your hands get chilled bring some waterproof gloves you can probably buy them at the shop before the tour 1/6/2008 2:47:56 PM |

We went there for a week long field trip in middle school...and no, there isn't a whole ton to do. As Skwinkle said, it's more of a field trip destination than a honeymoon destination. Plus you might get eaten alive by sand fleas. 1/6/2008 9:19:33 PM |

We've booked but we can still opt out and get a full refund. My lady came across this and thought it looked interesting... just doesn't seem to be much to do there besides the resort. 1/7/2008 8:25:24 AM |
