Tell me about it. Like where is the best place to go for tourists? WHat time of the year is best? etc..

Im thinking about planning a trip in 2009 for my mom's birthday present and honestly, I don't know much about the country other than it looks beautiful from what I've seen and that my mom's always wanted to go..

Athens is dirty. We had a great time there, but still, I don't think I would take my mom there for her birthday. The buildings drip on you when you walk under them, the streets are always wet even though it doesn't rain, smog, you name it. The Acropolis was really cool, and there's a lot of neat things to see and good food to eat. But I think if you want really pretty you should probably stick with Santorini. We didn't go there, but I've heard fantastic things about it.

We went in September and it was pretty hot. I would have liked to go when it was a little cooler, but I'm not a fan of the hot weather, so that's just me.

The island of Santorini is fantastic. Go there, and when you do, go to this place its called the Tropical Bar, try and get there earlier in the day and ask to see if they can reserve you a table on the deck for the sunset, it is worth it. The volcano is pretty sweet if you're into that and the nightlife is pretty awesome. It's like a completely different place when the sun sets.

Mykonos is pretty sweet too, but thats more of a college/young 20s crowd since its almost like a party island.
