Honestly, I can't blame them for wanting vengeance on the Federal government for the fine job they did post-Katrina. However, this sort of amount just saps any real sympathy you may have. Besides, they should sue the state of Louisiana as well: the state government deserves a good share of the blame as well for their gross incompetence.

i don't assign NEARLY as much blame to the federal gov't on this matter as most do, for a variety of reasons...most of which center around a lot of it not really being their problem to begin with.

I feel bad for those people but give it a rest already.

You live below sea-level, surrounded on three sides by major bodies of water. Everyone knew that a huge hurricane was approaching....most choose to stay and 'ride it out' and some paid a terrible price for it.

Did the government do a great job, at any level (local or national)?...probably not. Did a lot of those people take reasonable responsibility for their own safety?...probably not.

Since when can a person sue due to an 'act of God?'
