Another Clinton in office (assuming democrats win) would create more strife.

^ lol that's shameless... and really disappointing. It would be different if he had said "I was led to believe something that wasn't true" but he made it sound like he knew it would be a long fight from the beginning.

^well to be fair most of these politicians change thier views on alot of issues. I think you just never had them do it in one sentence like kerry did.

Mitt is getting blasted for changing his stance, but hillary is doing the same and being ignored for it.

I just dont think McCain can win it, I doubt he wins another state.

you should feel out of place at any institute of higher learning, trade school, high school, junior high, elementary school or pre-k due to your "i ain't got no learnin'"ism.

If that's true, maybe we should vote for Romney even more so. Look at the state of the US since Bush's second term.

I definately regret voting for Bush last time.

Oh come on. No one has consistently and repeatedly changed their stance on so many issues, even core values, as Mitt Romney. Heck, he is even changing his history (i.e. MLK comment).

i regret being a bush supporter as well, but i still have my doubts that much of anything would be different had kerry won

if jesus, mohammed, buddah and bill gates all morphed into one, they couldn't have gotten us out of this shitpile he got us in his first term

Romney said repeatedly that he supports civil rights and similar things because he "saw his dad marching with MLK in the streets of Michigan" which, when everyone figured out that it had never happened, he said he was saying it figuratively not literally....

(think thats what he's talking about..)

Romney is clearly the biggest flopper of this election cycle. But that being said, people will change their opinions once in office, it goes with the territory. However what we've seen largely on the republican side is changing opinions and stances to mainly win an office. So how they will really behave is IMO unknown.

god i always get off topic with tww still.

i think the Kerry endorsement is just a way for Kerry to pretend like he's still relevant. i hope it doesn't do any damage to Obama, but we'll see what the MSM and blogs make of it.

Thanks Lunak. I read up on it little. It does look like Romney's parents were civil rights activists. ANd the brother said he recalls the dad saying he marched. Which may just be the brother trying to save some face for his brother.

I dont think thats a very big deal though. But I do think he was using the march to try spin votes, which is what politicians do.

yea, i think its become way too common for politicians to stretch the truth in order to make themselves look better in the hopes of not getting caught.

i have family in politics, and i wont deny that they probably do it to....

i'm saying that this endorsement was staged by the hillary campaign. Why wouldn't kerry do this before new hampshire, a state where kerry has a bit more influence. kerry didn't even campaign in south carolina in 2004, basically giving it to Bush. Kerry isn't liked in SC and this was meant to harm obama.

Lunak, didnt obama lie about his family during some alabama speach. I remember he gave some sermon about kennedy and selma, but after the fact the timeline was impossible for his description.

Like I said, just par for the course.

Found it. From his speech:

"What happened in Selma, Alabama and Birmingham also stirred the conscience of the nation. It worried folks in the White House who said, “You know, we're battling Communism. How are we going to win hearts and minds all across the world? If right here in our own country, John, we're not observing the ideals set fort in our Constitution, we might be accused of being hypocrites.” So the Kennedy's decided we're going to do an air lift. We're going to go to Africa and start bringing young Africans over to this country and give them scholarships to study so they can learn what a wonderful country America is.

This young man named Barack Obama got one of those tickets and came over to this country. He met this woman whose great great-great-great-grandfather had owned slaves; but she had a good idea there was some craziness going on because they looked at each other and they decided that we know that the world as it has been it might not be possible for us to get together and have a child. There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Alabama, because some folks are willing to march across a bridge. So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born. So don't tell me I don't have a claim on Selma, Alabama. Don't tell me I'm not coming home to Selma, Alabama. "

But, let's actually look into the story here.

*Barack Obama, Sr. attended the East-West Center, set up in 1960 by the U. S. Congress and President Eisenhower.

*Selma happened in 1965, when Barack Obama was four, and after the death of John F. Kennedy.

*The 16th Street Baptist Church bombing happened in 1963, when Barack Obama was two.

*Barack Obama, Jr. was born in August 1961.

So basically Barack Obama was born in 1961 because his father got to go to school in 1960, due to a program approved of by "President Kennedy", in response to Selma, which happened in 1965.

I actually hadn't heard about the Obama stuff....

I agree, politicians feel like they're entitled to skew the facts. I think it's on us as the public to keep them honest. I know that sounds cliche, but hopefully this election will be different for our age group, and maybe we might have an over 50% turnout.

I think you will. Everyone is so caught up with obama right now. My fear is that people get so envolved with the delivery that they stop asking questions.

Look I like obama much more than clinton as a person. But he is VERY liberal and there is just no way I can vote for that. When I say liberal I mean fiscally. But I love watching him talk, he does inspire people. But lets not forget to ask questions and study the issues.

I think Obama would make for a good President if the GOP controlled congress. Just like Clinton was a solid president after '94. He would be a good leader and statesman the world would embrace.

I worry about Obama enabled by a democratic congress. He is just too idealistic and his tax-and-spend ideas would send us into a long, hard recession.

Actually a pretty good speech.

Somewhat of a history lesson too...... For one, I had no idea Thomas Jefferson was only 33yrs. old when writing The Declaration of Independence. (All the pictures make these people look SO old -- maybe that's the point.) And like he said, it IS easy to forget M.L.K. was 26 in Selma and 34 when giving his 'I Have a Dream' speech.

"tax-and-spend ideas"

the dems and reps are both big spenders these days whether it be improvements at home or wars abroad. if you go for top tier your only choices are pay as you go, or print more money/go into more debt as you go. in that sense tax-and-spend may be the more fiscally responsible.

"I believe this (attacks/war w/ iran) is a possibility that is maybe closer to reality than we are discussing tonight." -McCain

And then theres always "Bomb Iran." Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran
