my roommate has a '97 4 banger s10 that doen't run that he needs to get rid of and is offering to sell it to me on the cheap.

considering the cost of a new tranny, engine, any necessary conversion shit (would like to stuff either a 4.3 or sbc in there), and windshield, i don't want to offer him a whole lot. i really want it, and i really want to help him out, but at the same time, i'm not completely confident i can give him what would be a fair price and still be able to afford to fix it. i could really only offer about $500 or $600, but i'm sure if he put it on craigslists he could probably get more from someone with the same idea i have.

p.s.- should i go through with this, i may need access to a cherry picker and another truck sometime in the next couple months, don't really know who all is still on here from back the day. if ya think you might be able to help with that, leave a note here and i'll be in touch when the time comes.

don't even bother with a 4.3. sbc/ltx/lsx or nothing.

offer him what you can afford, and if he thinks he can get more then he can go for it. a lot of times it's worth it to eat a little and not have the hassle to advertise and show a vehicle.

i've got whatever you might need. truck, trailer, hoist, etc.

500$ seems like a lot for something that isnt even worth having in running condition

why not just buy a super saab for the same money that runs and drives, and is a slightly more desirable vehicle.

i'm really tired of not having a project, i've pretty much accepted i'm not getting my truck back from my dad, he relies on it too much now, time to move on.

^^hardly planning on selling it after i work on it. i know he could probably get atleast $750 on craigslists just cuz the body is about perfect.

^cuz trucks are my interest, don't care for saabs, plus, the sheer utility of a truck makes up for the lack of desire anyone else may have.

baonest, so are integras, if i gotta move into this century, so do you. (you didn't get something new and i missed the memo did ya?)

bbr, that is kinda what i was thinkin. i'll keep ya in mind should i wind up with it. and i hope you're not suggesting keeping the 2.2l, it can barely get out of it's own way in my cav, let alone an s10 that wieghs a few hundred pounds more.
