Huge fan of him. I am obsessed with his shows A Cooks Tour and No Reservations. Has anyone read any of his books? Which one should I get first, No Reservations, or Kitchen Confidential? 1/15/2008 12:48:51 AM |

I love how he just smokes it up and gets plastered during his show. Of course they don't show him drunk off his ass, but you know he gets there. I wish I could get paid to travel all around the world, eating cool ass food, and drinking up. I envy his life. 1/15/2008 2:50:46 PM |

After reading an interview with Bourdain I DVR'd a few episodes of No Reservations and just started watching it. My first episode was the one where he ended up eating the raw seal (eyeball!) at the end of the show. It was a very interesting show and it goes well beyond the cooking and into the culture of the people. I'll definitely watch more.

Yeah I have learned more about different cultures from No Reservations than I have from any other single source. The way he presents the show is just awesome. 1/15/2008 5:28:25 PM |

Love his show. One of my dream jobs would be to be a member of his crew, or his producer or something. I also approve of his disgust with vegetarians. 1/15/2008 6:35:59 PM |

I'm obsessed with him too
Apparently he has quit smoking because he has a baby now....
I'm looking forward to next week's No Reservations episode in New Orleans, because the commercial showed him with Emeril, and I always heard that he thought Emeril sucked....
I recently finished reading Kitchen Confidential, it was pretty entertaining, I want to get the other stuff he has written 1/31/2008 3:31:00 PM |

Quote : | "Vegetarians, and their Hezbollah-like splinter faction, the vegans, are a persistent irritant to any chef worth a damn. To me, life without veal stock, pork fat, sausage, organ meat, demi-glace, or even stinky cheese is a life not worth living. Vegetarians are the enemy of everything good and decent in the human spirit, and an affront to all I stand for, the pure enjoyment of food. The body, these waterheads imagine, is a temple that should not be polluted by animal protein. It's healthier, they insist, though every vegetarian waiter I've worked with is brought down by any rumor of a cold. Oh, I'll accommodate them, I'll rummage around for something to feed them, for a 'vegetarian plate', if called on to do so. Fourteen dollars for a few slices of grilled eggplant and zucchini suits my food cost fine." |

I've watched a few more episodes. Greece was good and I liked the look of a lot of their foods.
Germany bored me and the food looked nasty even after cooking so I deleted it about 2/3 of the way through.
New Orleans looks interesting. 1/31/2008 5:52:32 PM |

if you finished reading kitchen confidential, you should have known that he likes emeril a little bit more now that he's gotten to know the guy. he can cook and that's most important to tony.
