what kind of equipment is needed to convert old treasured VCR tapes to DVD?

or....can anyone recommend a local service that can do that? thanks!

a vcr, some blank DVDs, a video capture card, and lots of spare time.

get a tv tuner card and hook up yo vcr to da computer

den put da vhs in da vcr, den record on a compooter...den convert to da dvd format and burn to da dvd

too much trouble..i don't have a video capture card...and i think i sold my vcrs....

so.....give me a good outside service to do this at...what kinda places

i can do this with my dvd/hd recorder...but i've never tried

i used to do this back in the day with a dazzle dvc80...worked well, but time consuming

yeah i don't want to take up anyone's time so i'd rather pay and have some service do it...

there must be some kind of video service

This won't work for 90% of VHS movies. Macrovision will prevent the video, audio, or both from recording correctly. You'd probably have better luck with a VCR/DVD-R combo player. There are devices for removing Macrovision, but they aren't cheap.
