This has been grating my nerves for several years now...people who ask you to take your shoes off when you go inside their house. A few examples: A chick you pick up for a date, as fucking usual, she's "late getting ready" and wants you to chill on the couch for a while, after you take your goddamn shoes off. Or, hanging out with my friend working on his car in the garage, we go into the kitchen to get another beer, but not befor "Dude, my wife bitches about the shoes...we gotta take 'em off" (before walking 10 feet into the kitchen, getting some beer and food, and walking back to the goddamned garage). My favorite: the chick who vacuums in "patterns" so the "direction of the carpet fibers" laid by the spinning brush is all in the same direction. She shuts the fucking vac off every goddamned time she pulls it backward.

What's the fucking point? Dust and other shit ends up your goddamned floor. What is taking your shoes off going to fucking accomplish? Making you vacuum every 4 days instead of 2? Jesus fucking christ! Get some therapuetic help for your OCD!!!! Gravity means that everything you don't want in your house in going to end up on the floor, a convient place for wonders of technology like the broom, the vacuum, and the retarded dog who will eat anything, to get rid of it!

I helped my friend move some shit from his parents house to storage today, and we carried 4 pieces of furniture from the house to the truck, and each goddamned time we had to take our fucking shoes off.

Fuckidty fucking fuck. I've had it. Next time I'm just going to reply "Yes, I do mind, I'll just wait out here".

if this is really a problem, wash your feet more often so you aren't ashamed to take off your shoes.

If someone asked me to take off my shoes while I was helping them move I'd have gotten back into my car and driven away.

I've never gotten this either, carpet isn't that expensive nor is it difficult to gt stain resistant carpet or scotch guard the shit. It's completely gaytarded.

i mean if i have to run inside my house to get somethin from my room or whatever i don't take off my shoes.

if i'm just chillen in my house then i take off my shoes because
A) it's more comfortable
B) why ruin the carpet/floors with all the dirt and whatnot

if i go to someone's house i take off my shoes without being told, unless i know they don't care, then i strut around doin the heel toe like it's my job.

I never wear shoes in my own house because I like being barefoot, but for some reason my default assumption is that most people would be weirded out if I just took them off in their house without being told

and by "some reason" I mean "the fact that my feet are enormous and disgusting"

The only times I bit my tongue when people were wearing shoes in my house were if they were a handyman or something like that...it bugs me, but they're doing a service and can wear shoes...they may step on a nail...and they come in and out of the house.

i don't know, probably because i don't ask people to take their shoes off when entering my apartment, so i wouldn't expect it.

what about people who practically live in flipflops/sandals and automatically kick them off when entering any dwelling?

i just think it's polite to show respect to the homeowner and take off your shoes so you don't bring "impurities" into the house.

fuck if i care if i'm walkin into a college apartment/house, but i mean going to a family friend's house or something like that, i take off my shoes.

culture difference. plus you can tell a no shoes on carpet house from a shoes ok carpet house so easily. but in the case of moving... that shit happens like what, once every few years?

yea, like i said, if i KNOW that the people don't care, then i walk right on in without takin off my shoes.

but if i'm not sure, i take them off.

basically, i find socks to be more disgusting than shoes

so flip flops, no big deal... althought i would still rather have dusty rubber on my carpet than sweaty feet

less dirt in and on the carpets, one thing for a rental where it doesn't matter as much to the occupant, but if it's my fucking carpet you bet your ass is leaving those shoes at the door

less shit tracked all over.

go for it, when it matters the most is when you're less likely to want to stay outside anyways

I always take my shoes off and ask people to take off theirs.

1. its just cleaner, i mean you don't realize the shit (and literally too) that you walk through.
2. just always use to it and i like my bare feet on carpet.
