aight so im finally going to finish the 340 for my duster and the last piece are rocker arms. im looking at this ebay auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBTOX%3AIT&viewitem=&item=170134047033&_trksid=p3984.cTODAY.m238.lVI
The issue is part number listed(1420-16) is for regular Magnum Series rockers but the picture is of Pro Magnum rockers(1322-16). In the 07 Comp Cams online catalog they dont even list a regular Magnum rocker or that p/n (only the Pro 1322) and the auction clearly states the auction includes the "items pictured, nothing more, nothing less". The 1420-16 list I found through google on a Comp page that i cant find otherwise. Neither the 07 catalog or the 06 Performance Builder Catalog show 1420-16 so it must be a discontinued Magnum rocker.
and the Pro's list for $450 so this will save some $texas if its legit
Also I asked the seller to clarify but they're in Tn and its almost midnight so i dont expect an answer before bidding ends. Can I feel safe that the p/n was clearly listed wrong and that I will recieve the items pictured and can I hold them to that since they say it on every auction.

either way, it's a decent deal. if they turn out not to be the pros, shouldn't be any problem returning them, getting some money back, or whatever.
what cam is going to be bumping these? 1/21/2008 2:23:51 AM |

hydro, nothing too wild as the build started as more of a street engine 1.6's woulda put it at .540 but now the engine is really just something to get going and will be replaced with a 420"+ stroker once i got some real money and a drivable car in 2yrs or so. alot of the newer parts a more future proof.
picked up a holley 750 with a proform mainbody 2 weeks ago that gotta get some billet metering blocks for. 1/21/2008 2:44:07 AM |

oh yeah, that'll be a tame cam on the street. you could easily go a little bigger if you wanted.
i don't know what your other deal is, but i've got a holley 750 dp i'll sell cheap. it needs a rebuild. optmusprimer has claim on it right now, but if it turns out he doesn't want it you can get it if you want. 1/21/2008 3:20:21 AM |

i wont start another thread but i have another question
if i soak my hydo lifters before i install them and then the engine sits for another year will they bleed down. are there any other concerns with an assembled engine sitting for a fairly long time before starting it. ill prime the oil pump once its all together i guess. engine is on a stand in an unheated garage. 1/22/2008 7:46:19 PM |
