Quote :
"A woman who ripped off her ex-boyfriend's testicle with her bare hands has been sent to prison.
Amanda Monti, 24, flew into a rage when Geoffrey Jones, 37, rejected her advances at the end of a house party, Liverpool Crown Court heard.

She pulled off his left testicle and tried to swallow it, before spitting it out. A friend handed it back to Mr Jones saying: "That's yours."

Monti admitted wounding and was jailed for two-and-a-half years.

Sentencing Monti, Judge Charles James said it was "a very serious injury" and that Monti was not acting in self-defence.

The court heard that Mr Jones had ended his long-term but "open relationship" with Monti towards the end of May last year.

The pair remained on good terms and on 30 May she picked him up from a party in Crosby and went back for drinks with friends at Mr Jones's house.

An argument ensued and Mr Jones said there was a struggle between them.

In his statement, Mr Jones said she grabbed his genitals and "pulled hard".

He added: "That caused my underpants to come off and I found I was completely naked and in excruciating pain."

The court heard that a friend saw Monti put Mr Jones's testicle into her mouth and try to swallow it.

She choked and spat it back into her hand before the friend grabbed it and gave it back to Mr Jones. Doctors were unable to re-attach the organ.

In a letter to the court, Monti said she was sorry for what she had done.

She said: "It was never my intention to cause harm to Geoff and the fact that I have caused him injury will live with me forever. I am in no way a violent person."

The letter added: "I have challenged myself to explain what has happened but still I just cannot remember. This has caused much anguish to me and will do for the rest of my life."

Please, please tell me that a man would get 2 and a half years in jail for tearing off a woman's breasts or labia if she rejected his advances at a party.

I could, but I'd be lying

the justice system is incredibly sexist (both ways, really)

I mean, have you heard on the news when someone is charged with "assault on a female"

why does matter that the victim is female? (do we have "theft from a female" or "vandalism to a female"?)

sexist bullshit, that's why

Quote :
"A soldier thought that he was in for a night of sexual adventure when his teenage lover suggested that he remove his clothes and let her handcuff him to a chair.

The thrill was short-lived, however, when he realised quickly that she had pain, not pleasure, in mind, a court was told today.

Sipping champagne, Nicola Clunies-Ross smiled at the man and told him, “I am going to destroy you”, as she allegedly sexually assaulted him in an hour-long ordeal that was photographed and videotaped.

The jury was told that Ms Clunies-Ross, now aged 20, believed that her lover had given her hepatitis C and had been seeing a former girlfriend. So Ms Clunies-Ross, who is descended from a Scottish dynasty, lured him to her flat and, telling him that she had a surprise, ordered him to strip, handcuffed him to a wooden chair and gagged him.

“He consented to being constrained at that point in time. He thought he was in for a night of sexual adventure,” Amanda Burrows, for the prosecution, said. Instead a longer-term boyfriend, Peter Gurdulic, also a 19-year-old Darwin-based soldier, arrived with a vibrator, which she allegedly used on her victim.

In prerecorded evidence made before he was deployed to Iraq, the victim said that Ms Clunies-Ross smiled during the attack, in which a jealous Mr Gurdulic brandished a large knife and the pair hit him in his kidneys. “I yelled quite loud but being gagged it wouldn't come out,” he said.

The court was told that Mr Gurdulic took photographs and short videos of the attack and threatened to publish them on an army computer hard drive, accessible to all soldiers, if the soldier did not do as he was told.

Mr Gurdulic was found dead in his barracks the following month after being charged over the attack. Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.

Ms Burrows said that the victim fled in a taxi after being released. He reported the assault to police after seeking advice from a senior officer.

Ms Clunies-Ross's defence lawyer has told the court that she was forced to harm the victim by Mr Gurdulic, who was jealous of him. Ms Clunies-Ross has pleaded not guilty to assault, aggravated sexual penetration without consent and deprivation of liberty.

Her family was granted the Cocos Islands, in the Indian Ocean, by Queen Victoria in 1886 after Captain John Clunies-Ross, a Scottish trader, landed on the islands in 1825. The Australian government bought the islands from the family in 1978. "

I guess women really can't be charged with rape, eh?

Honestly, I have no idea. Remember, this is the UK we're talking about. And the attacker was a) drunk and didn't remember and b) claims she didn't mean to do it.

Horrible story, though. Damn.

We can't! It's ridiculous, but we CAN'T. It's the most fucking stupid law on the books. By definition, rape has to be performed on a female. So plowing another guy in the ass will get another man less jail time, and a woman will get less jail time for unconsentual sex. SO FUCKING STUPID.

I know if I was a girl I'd be pissed about now being able to legally rape people too!

This is in Europe isn't it?

Pedophiles and rapists and rapists only get like 2 - 3 years in prison there.

That's vile. And there's a good deal of truth to the canard about women being crueler than men.

As far as the rape laws go, they need to be changed. Rape is much more an issue of power than of sex, and a woman is just as capable of abusing power as a man.

I'd like to see some evidence that women are crueler or more cruel than men.

Cause I don't think we are.

I think cruelty has a lot to do with access. People who are in a position to abuse are more likely to abuse than people who are not in a position to abuse.

If I were an asshole I'd reply with this,

"Cuz you're not making me a sandwich right now. That's pretty cruel. I'm sure all the other guys here will agree with me."

But I'm not an asshole so just pretend I didn't say that.

^ Stop being an asshole.

If anything, men are crueler currently, as they have more opportunity to be.

What I said has nothing to do with the fact that I am a woman. I am allowed to point out that there are gender inequalities that screw over men, too, you know.

I believe most men are already aware of those.

As we live in a patriarchal society, I'm a bit suspicious of anyone points out such inequalities. As long as the intent isn't to distract from the bigger picture, fine. But men too often note these things out as a way to dismiss feminists.

^^ You can't deny that at the same time of claiming to want equality women cling to things that benefit them. I mean, there are some things that I believe men should do for women to maintain some sense of difference between the genders but it is blatantly hypocritical by them. I'm about as feminist as men come too, but I still see it.

Why would you want to maintain this sense of difference?

Because men and women are different, there's no getting around that, and opportunities to show that are getting fewer and fewer.

Why would you want them to become more the same?

Mainly because of culture. We can deconstruct that. Technology can deal with whatever biological differences remain.

If only this were true.

Because gender is part of a binary social system that oppresses people.

You don't want them to be the same. Quite the opposite, actually. You don't want sameness, you want maximum expressiveness. I'm a little bit more informed on this than you think I am, I'll venture.

Sure, but that the opposite of system now in place. People should be defined as individuals, not men or women. We should smash the patriarchy and abolish gender as soon as possible.
