do people do special things with iTunes? i get my music... i sync my iPod... make playlists blah blah.. update it once every month or two months... with zero hangups.

pointing out that the windows pc might be the problem.. or the user

i asked if any of you do anything special or if you aren't on a mac, for the simple fact that i don't have any problems

and no, i wasn't going to suggest using a mac version on your pc. also, since you're wanting to be a smart alleck about it, nobody in this thread said anything about the problems being on windows, on os x, on a pc, on a mac, or anything else.

hehe, that's it. Apple wants you to switch over to the mac just so you can sync with your ipod...

too dumb to use it? really? it's a fucking apple product, it's meant for the "too dumb to use it" crowd. shut the fuck up with that bullshit. it's a pile of shitware and there's a reason its alternatives are so popular amongst people who are smart enough to know the difference. "just don't upgrade passed version 6" yeah chief, I definitely want some unpatched network aware apps on my system http://secunia.com/product/5882/?task=advisories

I'm not saying the interface is horrible (but I hate it) but the resource usage/management job of the dev team is pretty damn pathetic. 60+mb to playback music of ~320kbps bit rate? even keeping the next 4 song possibilities in memory so there's no 0.0000005sec delay reading the track from disk wouldn't take up that much space.

nevermind that itunes essentially drm's your music to your ipod so you can't just use your ipod to transport music to another one of your computers. that's probably the biggest selling point NOT to use itunes.

^^ your gf probably doesn't know what RAM is either.

just because someone says software is a piece of shit doesn't mean they have problems with it. it just means that the program sucks.

you do realize that quicktime is the backbone for itunes playback, right?

that's his point. as long as itunes is based on quicktime, it will be trash.

I read that as if he thought apple reinvented the wheel with itunes and put quicktime in the trashbin.

well i have been using it for a ling time and it's never once screwed me

I don't have an ipod, maybe that's where a lot of people have problems, but I use it to put music on my phone which I've been doing for over 2 years

o, and I twice tried to update to their newest versions and I have had problems with both of them and went back to version 6
