^Agreed.

Best answer is probably AL>NL in MLB.

But AFC>NFC. Then West>East. And Coastal>Atlantic.

I would disagree with the baseball thing.

If you're refering to World Series Championships, the AL has an 8-5 record since the strike, with 6 of those wins attributed to either the Yankees or the Red Sox. Since interleague play began, the AL is 1250-1202. None of these numbers are staggering in one direction, although undoubtably the AL has been the stronger league over the past decade or so. The only really staggering statistic when it comes to MLB is the AL's All-Star dominance.

I believe the correct answer would be AFC over NFC. Since 1998 the AFC is 8-2 in Superbowls (with 5 different teams winning the Superbowl). Yeah, the Pats have been a force, but other teams have been really strong at times through then too (Broncos, Colts, Chargers, Steelers). The NFC has just not had anything like that. I can't seem to find the AFC vs NFC records, but I imagine they are quite lopsided.

there's a higher % of quality NFC teams than there are quality NBA teams in the east.

^^Yeah I guess I was thinking more about All-Star games where the AL is 10-0-1 in the last 11. But they have also swept the World Series 5 of the last 10, while going 7-3. But then again I pay more attention to baseball, so to me it seems like the AL is much better overall than the NL.

West over East in the NBA.

The top 10 teams in the West are separated by 6.5 games....that's ridiculous. The first five teams are separated by 2.5 game...again, ridiculous. You've got Utah, who was in the Conference finals last year, sitting at 9th and out of the playoffs if the season ended right now. And the Rockets are 10th with T-Mac and Ming, one of the top scorers in the league and arguably the best center in the league (and not a bad supporting cast).

The East has Boston and Detroit in one tier...then Cleveland, Orlando, Toronto, and Washington in another tier.

You could probably put the top 10 teams in the West and put them above that second tier in the East. And then pick maybe the top 5 of those teams (Spurs, Suns, Mavs, Hornets??, Denver??) and throw them in there with Detroit and Boston.

I just can't get over the depth of those top 10 teams in the West....amazing.

Yeah, the AL is totally dominating the NL. What with their 1,250-1,202 all-time interleague record and all. It's not even close!

good job answering the question. Also, the NFC vs AFC this year split 32-32. I think.

And over the last 10 years, the AFC has been 347-276-1. The NFC has never won more inter-conference games than the AFC. So you were both probably right.

You're kidding, right?

The NFC won 13 straight Super Bowls.

Exactly this is how the NFL goes the AFC dominated for a while then the NFC dominates.....
1987-1996 NFC, 10-0.... 1997-2007 AFC, 8-3

point proven

^^

I was referring to recent history. I remember when I was a kid them always debating if the AFC was ever gonna win a Superbowl.
