do they have to submit credit checks and criminal record checks? how about random drug testing, or mandatory drug testing when if they get hurt at work?

how about senate and the house?
state lawmakers?
the governor?
the mayor? (marion barry haha)
city council?

serious questions, i've been reading some stuff and now i'm curious. any answer to any one of those would be cool. also if you've read anything about it online, links would be cool.
