"13) N.C. State = nation's biggest disappointment. The Wolfpack were supposed to be a legitimate Final Four contender. However, chemistry is lacking and Sidney Lowe's team may not even make the postseason despite adding one of the nation's most talented freshmen, J.J. Hickson. N.C. State is 1-2 in ACC play and has losses to New Orleans at home and East Carolina on the road."

fuck jeff goodman. it was the media that proclaimed us #2/3 in the ACC and i'm not sure i really heard any serious mention of us being final four contenders. he's just pissed he got it wrong.

kentucky, l-ville.

there are so many kentucky alumni and fans that HATE billy being the coach.

I could be wrong, but I don't remember there being high expectations for Kentucky or Louisville (with the exception of people who thought Billy was the next Adolph Rupp). Neither of those teams had a great nucleus of talent coming back or a strong finish to the season last year.

kentucky was ranked in the preseason polls, then they lost BAD at home to Gardner-Webb and things fell apart. Later lost 4 in a row and 6 of 8.

We were ranked preseason and lost to New Orleans and ECU.

Kentucky has also had a significantly tougher schedule than us. They've also recently beaten two ranked teams.

I guess we're pretty even, but I don't think Kentucky is that much more of a disappointment than we are.

Louisville was #6 in both preseason polls. Kentucky was one or two spots higher than us in each.

I stand corrected on Louisville then...but that preseason #6 is a little ridiculous. They've been disappointing for the past couple of years. You think everyone would have figured that out by now.

no way... deepest team in the country, great coach, and all of this has happened with Lofton having an off year this year.

we suck but all the predictions assumed we would have solid point guard play. We don't, so we suck. I don't know what is so "disappointing" about that. I figured this shit would happen

Considering we dont have a good point guard yet and we give up 15-20 more shots than we take, I'd say 13-6 is pretty damn good.

^thats not the only thing though. Don"t mention the fact that all of our players have dropped their fg % by about ten and COSTNER!!!!

^^ i guess before the season even starts we should expect to lose a key player to a season ending injury and base our expectations on that?

Kentucky, yes. Louisville lost Padgett, Caracter and another starter for significant time. Plus, they are certainly a NCAA team right now... sad to say, we aren't. I think we can be, but not if we're going to lose to a GT at home... good win yesterday though.

???? Didn't they make the Final 4 like 3 years ago and the Sweet 16 last year with an incredibly young team?

[Edited on January 27, 2008 at 12:38 PM. Reason : sweet 16 add]
