that, in and of itself, is not racist at all.

It's not unreasonable to want to talk to someone you can fucking communicate with

This is why I'll only call during regular business hours - the odds of reaching off-shored tech support is so much lower.

i hate talking to curry eating fuckers when trying to get tech help - all they can do s read out of the book. i have taken to starting things off with "look, not to be rude, but I am VERY computer savvy, so skip the book, and help me with this...I have checked all the wires, and restarted my computer - now what?" especially with time warner cable - OMFG hand the phone to an AMERICAN.

i dont know what makes me racist sometimes....i make fun of whites, blacks, and everyone else, but some times i feel i hate a particular one more...or i say more meaner shit for certain groups...i tell myself its all in good fun or "i have black friends"...part of it is not thinking about all aspects of the racist comment...or maybe its just something i heard and it was on my head....idk racism is very interesting to me...i really wonder what the world would be like if we mixed all the people....

many companies have first line outsourced, and second level still domestic

often if you ask to elevate the call, you'll get a us rep.

it helps

I ordered dish network once, paid and everything, then canceled before it was even installed because the person that called to confirm everything did not understand English.

I do tech support and I'll say that most of us at my call centers are idiots. They'll hire anyone who can pass a basic multiple choice test like "what is an ip address?" and "how would you open the control panel on a computer?" There's very little training, so if you want something that doesn't have explicit instructions in our database, you're probably not going to get it. A lot of times, these fools cant even follow the instructions that we do have.

Either Sprint Tech support is overseas, or I've just gotten an Indian national at a US call center both times I've needed to talk to them... (which is probably a big part of why it took 3 damn weeks to get my number ported from AT&T to my new Sprint phone...)

Everyone in the world should speak English. It's unbearable that I have to deal with people from other countries! I bet I sound perfectly normal with my southern accent.

When you call an American company in the United States then the general expectation is that they speak english properly.

Not trying to start another rant.....

I was on the phone with time warner cable customer service..... a woman...... who as trying to help me fix my cable modem... Me knowing full well that Time Warner has 2 different modems, the old style surfboard modems, and the newer style black ones with USB on it. After explaining my problem she told me to use the USB port. I said, "Ma'am I have a surfboard type modem, it doesn't have USB" to which she replied, your modem should have come with a USB cable. Once i told her it did not, she got mad and was like, well do you have another USB cable you can use, so of course i said sure, I have plenty of those, I let her talk me through it..... plug one end into your computer, "yes ok, i did that"... now plug the other end into the modem.... "Ma'am the rectangle USB does not fit in the round Coax port.... she yelled at me and transfered me.....

Then I got to talk to some dude......... 2 minutes, i had a new surfboard on its way to my apt....

haha I love the Nigerians. They are awesome (if a little hard to understand sometimes).

But, my viewpoint may also come from having a Nigerian chemistry teacher in high school. Dude was awesome though (and once again, hard to understand all the time). Went off once about how he was a true African-American since he was born in Africa and then came to the US.

So got pointed out one time for falling asleep in the back of the class once too (he almost always had bunsen burners running all over the classroom).
It was cool though. He was talking to someone else and pointed out that I fell asleep (on a stool, head bobbing) in the back all the time and was still doing really well in the class.

There is an older guy at the convenience store across from campus though that is hard to understand 75% of the time. His son is much easier to talk to.

Almost walked out once because I make out that I had to have like over $3 to use my damn debit card.

The black ones are ALSO surfboard modems. They just have a different model number than the old white ones.
