-Flair beats MVP with Figure Four (WOOO!)

-JBL beats Jericho via DQ after Jericho retaliates for previous beatdowns and uses chairshots and chokes JBL

-Edge beats Mysterio The NYC crowd cheered the heel Edge and booed the face Mysterio.

-Orton beats Jeff Hardy with an RKO out of nowhere

-Rumble Match: Undertaker #1, Shawn Michaels #2. They were in there about two-thirds of the way and then got thrown over the top by Michaels and Mr. Kennedy, respectively. Surprise entrants were Jimmy Superfly Snuka followed immediately by Rowdy Roddy Piper. Kind of funny cause when Piper enters the ring Snuka's eyes go large and everyone else in the ring stops fighting and just watches them. Triple H comes in at #29 and starts clearing house. And then in a shock entrant at #30 it was....

....JOHN CENA! Cena was legitimately believed to not even be able to wrestle at Wrestlemania due to injury and he'd been out a few months. Crowd cheered big. Last three were Cena, Batista, and Triple H. They pose and play to the crowd a bit, Batista gets knocked out by Triple H. Then Cena finally puts Triple H out.

And shockingly, he's in the main event at Wrestlemania, where he'll probably face Orton. That'll be a good matchup.

I am incredibly sick of John Cena and Randy Orton.

Considering Cena has been out for months...that ain't good.

Cena's return was the worst possible thing that could have happened. You saw it, too. No title changes, and now Jeff's program with Orton gets destroyed because Cena's back. We finally got the kid the damn main event push he deserved, and now it's gone. The entire damn company freezes for that mother fucker. We finally had the chance to push some young, new talent, and now it's gone.
Or not...
Anyone notice the SEVERE chemistry John Morrison had with Shawn during the Rumble? You could hear the announcers picking up on it, too. Maybe Morrison is going to get a push off ECW...
Or, the other option would be to start an Undertaker/Shawn program, which is always guaranteed money.
But, yeah, the title picture just got fucked up. Fuck Cena.

"Deserved" is a bit much.

Well, they're like the exact same character except that Shawn is about 15+ years older and a face.

yeah, I'm not really sure that Jeff "spot monkey" Hardy is main event caliber. The fans like him for some reason, despite his inability to work a real match.

the fact that Cena is about to get the belt back means they're perfectly willing to keep giving it to someone who sucks in every way, thus anything is possible

That's going a bit too far. I've always liked Hardy, especially after the TLC matches and his match with the Undertaker for the championship years ago. I'd say he's main event caliber, but not long term champion caliber.

^ No, god no, he's not carry-the-company type caliber at all. But, having Rey Mysterio in the title picture for so long shows us that a spot monkey can hack it as the champion for short periods of time. Just give Jeff a little pat on the back for years of hard work, then drop it at the next PPV, that's all I ask.

^ That's where I'm coming from. Give Hardy a little credit for getting his act back together and being so over and then strip him of the title two PPVs later. It's that simple.

I don't have anything against Cena, he's just a snoozefest.

Jericho bled like a stuck pig and that chair shot that JBL took came out of no where and stiff as hell. It was a good camera angle cuz you didn't see Jericho holding the chair. JBL turns around and WHAM took one straight to the face. Hell I dont even think he blocked any of it

When Cena's music hit I wanted to throw my remote at my tv cuz I knew what was going to happen

been awhile since i watched any wwe, but has hardy developed any mic skills?

if not, i think its safe to say he doesnt have much business being in a main event

^ Since they script the promos so heavily these days, they've basically been giving him short and simple bits to say. He hasn't flubbed any, but he still doesn't have any discernable talent on the mic.

No one's asking Hardy to be Ric Flair, but if you're going to be a main eventer on a regular basis, you have to be at least a competent talker (see: Hart, Bret). Hardy isn't.

Reading the WO Rumble feedback reminded me of just how much I liked it when there was only the WWF belt and the IC belt.

The thing Hardy has going for him is most of the crowd loves him. He's really a modern-day version of Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels in a way. Hart and Michaels both started out as nothing special in tag teams, then went to singles and spent a good amount of time in the mid-card, and SURPRISE!, find themselves nearer the top.

Hardy will get a Mysterio-type championship reign at some point. It's really crowded though at the top now though with Cena, Orton, Triple H, Michaels, Undertaker, Edge, Batista, Jericho, JBL. And then underneath them as credible contenders if not main eventers you have Kennedy, Jeff Hardy, MVP increasingly, Punk at some point, Umaga, Mysterio, Finlay, Matt Hardy when he gets back.

Hardy should really be happy with where he's at though. A little more than 2 years ago, he was headlining the first-ever TNA pay-per-view against Jeff Jarrett. He lost, and then got shuffled down the card until he was eventually fired. He came back to WWE and he was in the big title match at the Royal Rumble. That's one heckuva climb.

^the ONLY way he's like HBK or Bret is that they started in tags. The IC belt was actually a viable title back then, and both HBK and Bret could a)work a solid, technical match and b)work a mic.

I'll put this here. I personally would find it hilarious if Raw is carried live in primetime on NBC.

Quote :
"NBC Universal issued a press release today to stockholders that announced that they will begin to add shows from their cable channels to their schedule. Top Chef from Bravo, Monk from USA, Psyche from USA, and WWE RAW from USA were all mentioned in the release. It has been said that NBC has been considering WWE programming since the beginning of the writer's strike."

Somehow I get the feeling that there isn't much crossover between WWE writers and WGA writers.
