Quote : | "RALEIGH, N.C. – Night owls rejoice! Beginning at 11 a.m. this Sunday, January 27 and carrying through Monday, January 28, BLO will hold its inaugural 24-Hour Cut-A-Thon to benefit Triangle Family Services. A minimum $30 donation gets guests a haircut at BLO, a nationally recognized, award-winning salon in Brier Creek Commons. All proceeds from services, retail sales and gratuities go to the local non-profit Triangle Family Services, which helps more than 5,000 area families achieve financial security and mental health, as well as safety from family violence.
According to Bryan Nunes, co-owner of BLO, the idea for the 24-Hour Cut-A-Thon came from his staff. “Our design team selected Triangle Family Services because they make a big impact locally helping families in crisis due to homelessness, financial pressures and family violence situations,” said Nunes. “Everyone is excited about our first Cut-A-Thon, and we plan to make this an annual event.”
BLO will have 16 stylists work in shifts over the 24 hours. Nunes hopes all 12 salon chairs will be occupied throughout the day and into the wee hours of Monday morning. Walk-ins for the Cut-A-Thon are encouraged at even the most unusual hours. Appointments also can be scheduled by calling 919-484-8600. BLO is located in Brier Creek Commons at 8415 Brier Creek Parkway.
Guests benefit from 20 percent discounts on all Redken hair care products, styling tools and accessories. Door prizes will be awarded every hour for dinners at area restaurants, rounds of golf, and even haircuts for a year.
BLO has a unique metropolitan appeal without the pretension typically associated with upscale salons. Recently nominated for the prestigious Global Salon Business Award, BLO also has been named Top 20 “Salon of the Year” nationally by Salon Today magazine. http://www.justblo.com.
Established in 1937, Triangle Family Services provides a wide spectrum of services that include individual and family counseling, emergency and housing assistance, consumer credit counseling, batterers’ rehabilitation, and supervised visitation/exchange services for families dealing with domestic violence. http://www.tfsnc.org
