someone has some inline skates in classifieds, in my size pretty much(11.5 or so, his are 12)...i only skated like 4 times as a kid cause i always thought falling down sucked....but now that i look back i think that would be a decent leg work out etc...would help my balance too i think...where are some places to go and practice without others seeing you so you dont look like a fool

I love to rollerskate...I always get speed skates...I used to own a pair back in the day, but I grew out of them and none of my friends like it as much as I did so I never bought a new pair...but it's still really really fun...and it's an incredible work out...I went about a year ago to the place in cary...I can't remember the name of it though

here's me talking on my cell phone and skating at the same time...oh yeah I'm bad!
it's also a little blury

Anywhere in Cary Crossroads.

Open, paved, little traffic in some areas.

not so much rollerskating (mostly for kids or cheesy dates), but roller blading has always been for either gay men or for pussies afraid to skate board

Well at Jellybeans you won't get road burn if you fall. However, you will have a bunch of kids half your age laughing at you because you can't skate.

So your choices...
Jellybean-less injury, more embarassment
Parking lot- more blood, little embarassment (unless you tell tww where you're going and people show up to make fun of you)

Also, rollerbladers always look like tools to me...and people in regular skates look gay....go for the speed skates, much better!

if you don't want to fall, then keep your center of gravity over the skates...the moment you over correct is the moment you fall down.

But honestly, if you wanna skate don't do roller blades. Grown men that wear rollerblades take it in the butt hole.

Rollerblades are for 12 year olds who think they look cool and chicks.

I think the actual rule is, you can't learn any new outdoors activities that kids half your age are doing until you're 40

Just because it isn't popular doesn't mean it's gay.
If you want to do it... then do it. Don't care so much about what all these people say.
I think there's one night a week that a radio station does a late night thing at the Skate Ranch off Capital Blvd. (Atleast then there would be older people there to laugh w/ you if you fall... but just stay close to the wall until you get the hang of it again & you'll be fine).

Marsh Creek Park has an outdoor inline hockey rink. The surface is much better than a parking lot.

Here's a map:
