Been interested in it for some time now. Saw my first episode last night. About flipped out when I saw the effects of the kid dissolving the body in his bathtub. AWESOME.

this show is good, it's one of those that makes you feel like if you were there, you would just go nuts and probably end it all. the bathtub scene, i would have to just cut my loses and bail, burn down the house, it's over.

I was all excited from the previews, and then the first episode was really awesome. The one last night was horrible. Almost nothing happened. They need to pick up the pace next week or people are going to start to bail on the show, me included.

^I dunno. The tension and the character development and whatnot was pretty intense. They needed to lay off the action for a second and allow it all to sink in.

this show was cool when they had a dead guy in acid in a bathtub and a guy chained up downstairs.

now it doesn't make sense, because i can't pay attention to it.

they also have it on AMC on demand, if you have digital cable. i don't remember what channel it is, but its way up there in the 550's. if 3 & 4 are not up yet i assume they will be soon.

My guess is there won't be a second season- its not like that guy has long to live. It would be unbelievable if he got "cured" all of a sudden. Haven't watched last night yet, but its on the tivo for later.

^he wouldnt have to be completely cured for the series to continue, he could live for years while undergoing chemo or his cancer could go into remission after a few rounds of chemo. Why would AMC create a series just to end it after one season, doesnt make any sense, especially if the ratings are good which they seem to have been.

This show has been awesome so far. All of the actors are good enough to create real moments of desperation and tension, especially during the family scenes.

Like everyone else I about lost my fucking mind during the bathtub scene.

it does for me. i have the Digipic 1500 package (i think), whatever the standard combo for RR and Digital Cable is.

^^^^ See, I don't know... The guy is already hacking up blood, and the cancer has already progressed pretty far. And it looks like they are going with a "If you only had a month to live" twist maybe? I haven't seen last nights yet, but I don't see it exactly ending happy.

Also- I want to see more with the sister in law. That scene where she walked out with those "fuck me" heels was kind of random... seems like it will come up again.

I wish we'd make more shows that are written with an ending and an anticipated number of seasons in mind.

3-5 quality seasons is ideal.

you're right, there is no AMC on demand, my bad. it's actually on channel 540 - Entertainment On Demand. they announce all the time on the on-demand preview channels that you can watch breaking bad on AMC on demand, but fail to say that channel doesn't really exist.

just finished watching the first episode online....interesting, going to watch more.

question though...whats the deal with the censoring of the show on the internet? dropped the f bomb a couple times in the beginning of the first episode, a chick hanging out the window, boobs floppin but blurred.

wtf?

i think it's just to make it a bit more realistic. It's produced by AMC, but i think it's made to look like it's an HBO or showtime or something. It's nice that they don't overtly bleep it or something, just mute it for a second so you know what they're saying, but you might not even notice that it was censored

Awesome show....I'm watching.

The last episode was slow, but I didn't feel it was filler. They wanted to slow it down and it had a lot of character development in it. Introduced two new characters that are obviously important (the rich people), he had to make two huge decisions, etc. I thought it was very well done.

^^ i thought so too. Episode 5 was good, and the intervention was one of the best written, best acted, "most real" scenes I've seen on TV.

The cooking scenes (the first one in Episode 1 then the latest one with the two young guys) are outstanding.

^ i think so. I didn't put that together until they were on the phone and she started crying

Great show. Thankfully someone started posting it in 720p. He's gotta be crazy to not accept that job though. I guess he wants to make his own decisions and not work for someone he used to be peers with.

If anyone reads the Sepinwall blog, he shed some light on the subject:
Quote :
"Now we have a much stronger idea of how Walt went from Nobel Prize-winning team member to bitter high school teacher: his girlfriend (or, at least, the woman he loved) married his partner, and Walt (impulsive, resentful and grudge-holding as we know he can be) no doubt quit the company rather than have to suffer through this perceived humiliation every day."

^^^ the job is just a coverup to get him medical benefits. Although it would present a good opportunity, I think the actual job is just anncillary to getting him some insurance. the partner guy with the huge ears was probably mostly blowing smoke about how much they wanted him. If they really wanted him to work there, they would have recruited him years ago, you know, before he got terminal cancer

^ no, you can gather all that from the interactions in episode 5, and the flashbacks theyve been having from Walt in College.

ok. SPOILER ALERT (for those that might bitch)

they cooked up some more meth and wanted to distribute it in bulk. drug dealer dude took it to some bigshot meth dealer and got the shit beat out of him and the meth stolen. so walt goes to see the guy in person with another bag. he gets there and demands $50,000 to cover the stolen meth and his partner's "pain and suffering" and the guy laughs at him. so walt grabs one of the crystals from the new bag and throws it and it blows up half the place (turned out to be some kind of explosive mercury concoction). got the $50,000 and a regular deal w/the dude. it was pretty cool.
