i think it might end up unnecessarily hokey and disappointing, but i'll be watching it anyway

i haven't actually finished the series...i read up through debt of bones since the rest weren't out yet...i started over last month and i'm on temple (i had no idea this show was in the works), so i may not even watch it until i finish them all again

I just finished Chainfire and was really let down. It's like the last few hundred pages were just a quaint series of coincidences to wrap the series up in a convenient manner.

I didn't think it was too bad...they've already strayed from the plot a little bit tho... well, besides how Rahl is supposed to be blonde and all his personal guards are buff blonde guys... and he doesn't usually stray from his palace in D'hara.

I do hope they travel to the wizard's palace and the counsel tho.

i'm only 10 minutes into it and 1.) they pronounce kahlan's name wrong (in my mind ) and 2.) richard is NOT the big guy he's supposed to be

the acting isn't HORRIBLE, yet...the effects, well, i've seen worse in the likes of hercules and xena

Why bother changing Richard and Zedd's relationship and not have Zedd be his teacher?
Couldn't they find a wig or something for Darken Rahl?
Wasup with the Sword not doing it's "bust shit up" thing?
Why change the whole "richard had to memorize the book of counted shadows and burn it" origin?
And why make it so that only the Seeker can read it to begin with? I mean if the series isn't cancelled, shouldn't other people have to read it a few seasons down the road anyways?

I bet Xena ends up being Shota.

I just realized, in the movie, he still has the tooth that his "father" brought back from the creature he had to kill to obtain the book of shadows for richard to memorize, and it's played a fairly important part. Also you'll notice in the credits that they say it comes from the first book and the series, so I'm going to guess that they're going to incorporate the fact that there are multiple copies of the book, and they may still bring up the fact that he memorized it, or the tooth has to do with finding other copies or something maybe....

man, hard to guess. I hope there's some actual plot tho, unlike Xena and Hercules.

well, they've made the darken rahl plot out to be important, but i'm afraid it'll be like the hera "plot" in hercules...they'll use darken rahl as the random attack on richard when they run out of other ideas...in the mean time, he goes about saving anyone and everyone from anything and everything

i sure hope not...but yesterday's episode was already like that...and they've already made enough changes to annoy me

did i somehow miss a major plot point in the book... or isnt kahlan supposed to be blonde? I guess it's a little thing but it threw me a bit.
Her and Nikki always seemed like they were supposed to be the Antithesis of each other (while both being stunning obviously).

And richard being small(ish) bugs me. I didnt expect him to be massive, but with the way the D'harans are described I thought he'd be a big Scandinavian Dolph Lundgren looking fellow, or possibly a fit lumberjack... but he just looks like a ... dude, and that was a bit dissapointing.
