Pretty sure I tried this at the Durham beer festival. I pretty much only drink stouts and porters, so really any type of that is ok. I've really started liking mocha and chocolate stouts. Tasty.

it was bitter but not too bitter but I thought it had a shallow taste, like Guinness

most chocolate beers dont even have chocolate in them. They get it from roasting barley, which produces similar flavors to roasted cocoa beans
