So, i've been interning at a large company for the last year, and now i've applied for a full-time position with them. I'm still currently an intern, so I had a phone interview this morning while I was in my office.

Just as the person on the phone asks "Name a time when you disagreed with your manager and how did you resolve it?" my boss walks in my office!

My door was closed, mind you...and I had emailed telling her about the interview.

I was like

I had a call for a position in Sonoma, CA before I got my current job offer. It was a very strange interview.

Vice pres. calls and basically tells me what they're all about, asks a few broad questions about my master's work, then asks if I have any questions. It was just very atypical. They ended up offering, but after I'd already accepted this job.

yeah, this is a huge company in RTP. I had a cubicle for about 2 weeks, then my manager moved into a new office (with a window) and I got her old office!

When she walked in, I repeated OUT LOUD "Hmmm...name a time when I DISAGREED WITH MY MANAGER...."

She quickly turned around and walked out...

I then explained what had just happened to the interviewer and she cracked up laughing

Standard questions never change...

When we interview people that have worked here for years for a position above their current one, they get asked the same questions they did when they were first hired.

I think it depends. I have only been asked silly questions on about half my interviews, also more entry level jobs. The more recent interviews are more about Pwn'ing your last job.
