Made a country ham in Hanson's class last semester. Damn thing has been sitting on top of the fridge for a month now, and I'm never going to cook this thing.
Anyone want? I lost the cooking/cleaning instructions, but I'm sure you can find them on the internet.
You pick up only. I'm not hauling this 20 lb monster in my car again 2/7/2008 11:02:08 AM |

It was cured, country ham style. Still needs to be "boiled" and shit, like other country Ham I think. All else fails, ask Dr. Hanson of the Food Science department. 2/7/2008 11:37:40 AM |

thought i'd try to help you out:
for those who aren't familiar with country ham, this is great for boiling collards, cabbage, or about any greens. you cut the ham up into slices (think country ham biscuit at bojangles) and the pieces around the bone that are too little to make thin slices are boiled (leave the fat on) to make stock for the greens. you remove the ham pieces from the stock before you boil the greens and have the meat on the side. just fry the slices in a pan and add some water to the drippings in the pan to make redeye gravy. have it for breakfast and put the gravy on some grits, or make it for supper with rice and biscuits.
i'd hate to see this ham go to waste. damn, i'm hungry now. 2/7/2008 12:41:28 PM |

Probably will last longer than you as long as it stays dry. It's cured meat. 2/7/2008 1:58:44 PM |
